A scene from the 1971 movie "Submarine Papanikolis", depicting the achievements of the greek submarine "Papanikolis" during World War 2, while Greece was fighting (and winning) Italy which invaded from Albania.

The submarine successfully destroyed several Italian ships.

The greek victories against Italy were the first Allied victories against the Axis on European soil. Afterwards, Greece was attacked by Germany as well, making it impossible to hold both fronts and finally was conquered.
