In this video Heimler explains how to write a Long Essay Question (LEQ) according to a formula that will earn you maximum points. A LEQ has to be set up as an argument, and that argument begins in your Thesis. If you establish an argumentative thesis, then you will have a roadmap for your body paragraphs which will earn you maximum points.

The secret sauce of arguing in your body paragraphs comes down to three steps: topic sentence, evidence, analysis. If you do this consistently, you'll earn a high score on your LEQ.

Additionally, Heimler answers the often asked questions: how many paragraphs should I have in my LEQ? and, how do I write a conclusion paragraph for my LEQ?

Another way to earn a complexity point is to EXPAND THE PROMPT. For example, if the prompt asks for economic & political changes that caused x in y period, then also talking about social changes with the same coverage may qualify.

At the moment it seems that your score mostly depends on your grader? Ive been told such different things than what you are explaining in this video. When my teacher explains what an leq should look like, it seems much simpler than this. It also seems like they are also grading MUCH simpler than you are. I hope I get an easy ap grader.
