The Mission: To save a stripped out and forgotten D-Day Airplane from the Scrapyard and get her flying for the 75th anniversary of D-Day (June 6th, 2019).

The Timeframe: We have only 6 months to get the DC-3 flying.

The Reason: This airplane is only a handful left in the world that actually flew on D-Day. We are getting her flying in the memory of people who lost their lives that day, June 6th, 1944.

The Cost: Everything we have.

Stella just gave you Bobby's name for his youtube channel very near the end of this episode, Bobby Run! I think we need a little segment on Stella. Since the work has begun she is constantly seen working in the background performing all kinds of tasks and jobs for DTD. She has skills and talents I could have not guessed in the early stages of Plane Savers, but she is obviously a key person to the entire project. She seems to have boundless energy and no job is too big, to me she is pretty amazing.

Both of my grandfathers were WWII veterans in the USAAC; one as a pilot of B-24, B-25, and B-29's, and the other a career USAAC/USAF crew chief and mechanic on everything from small aircraft, to the C-5A Galaxy prototype. Of all his stories, he talked most about his beloved "Gooney Bird", the C-47, especially when he was stationed in your neck of the woods, the Yukon territory. My grandmother was born in Edmonton, Alberta and because of those connections, your restoration holds a special place in my heart. I would be honored, even for a day to travel to Montreal or Red Deer to help all of you with DTD, and I plan on showing my grandmother (98 years young) the results of your labor as soon as I see her! She will be proud! I am a German language flight attendant at American Airlines, and private (aspiring commercial) pilot, and one of my bucket list items would be to one day fly DC-3's. I'll send you some photos of Flagship Knoxville from the C.R. Smith Museum in Dallas-Forth Worth, TX. All the best to you and the restoration team, and Schöne Grüße an Stella!

7 min of ads before i get to watch "Plane Savers!" to bad a beautiful day was mostly used up waiting on parts. But Stella saved the Day She was working hard. Glad to see she has a painting plan!

I think a proper military D-Day correct paint scheme would look the best. Invasion stripes roundels etc. For nose art I think a buffalo with wings done in the war time correct Disney style art would look great.

Hey Mikey! You, Stella and the volunteers are absolutely AMAZING. (The Plane Savers Nation would be lost without Stella. I'll bet she could paint that airplane by hand!) As always thank you for educating, entertaining and inspiring all of us. You are all simply the best. Cheers!

Bobby's channel should be called "Fix it with Bobby" since Bobby is a handy man and always has a method to fix a problem
