TRANSCRIPT

My mission as a nurse scientist scholar for the North Carolina division is to help us set the pace for nursing research and evidence-based practice in the region. Just this morning we had two nurses who presented different randomized trials that they had designed. Nurses here have an opportunity to be involved in research. They have an opportunity to be involved in evidence-based practice and quality improvement. It's helping to set the pace for research both here and across the nation. COVID has continued to move very swiftly, and it has forced all of us to really work together to make sure that we're leaning into the very best evidence. We've tried innovative practices that we had good reason to think might be effective, and it turns out in some cases they've been more effective than what was already out there, and then what we do is we always we recheck and we check and we validate. We want to make sure we're producing solid evidence and the things that we're really seeing are true, and we have a strategic vision for how to really push the science forward – from nurses.
