I actually like that they didn’t kiss or confess their feelings until the second movie. I know part of it is she’s stubbornly independent, but it’s refreshing to see a romance be more slow paced. They’re growing to learn to depend on each other, and establish a great foundation in their relationship, and I love it so much. I want more sequels, but I’m also satisfied where the second movie left off with their story.❤ I made my 11 year old daughter watch it too, and she ended up liking it also.😁

I can relate to Millie tbh 😅 I was more of a tomboy when I was a kid so I usually hung out around and had more guy friends than girls and I’d been physical with them since age 10. During my teenage years it was a joke among us that we’d tell other people that no guy is considered a close friend of mine unless he’d been punched by me 😂

Okay coming back here to make some clarifications coz I don’t want strangers fighting one another over this. Also I learned about a new term (“pick me girl”) because of this whole debate.

CONTEXT: I was bullied by girls in primary school and the guys in my classes stood up for me so naturally I hung out with them more and unintentionally adopted some of their mannerisms over the years.

In a strange twist of fate I ended up in two all-girls’ schools during my secondary schooling years where I thankfully met some wonderful female friends who were just as weird as me and into the things that I also liked (I’m a bookworm and also a geek/nerd over multiple fandoms). While I have more guy friends than girl friends till this day, they are all wonderful and amazing human beings and it doesn’t matter to me (nor does it matter to them) that I behave like a tomboy still from time to time because at the end of the day, my friends (both males and females) accept me for who I am just as I accept them for who they are.

MORAL OF THE STORY: A girl/woman shouldn’t be defined by how feminine she is nor should a boy/man be defined by how masculine he can be. If that were the case it’d be toxic masculinity (or femininity) and honestly I think we’re all better than that since we live in a time where males and females are no longer bound by traditional gender roles and should just live their lives the way they want to regardless of what other people think.

Anyways, thank you for attending my Ted talk. Hopefully this settles the whole tomboy vs pick me debate since I only commented here coz I could relate to Millie and I think she’s a wonderful human being to be around and she’s extremely talented which is admirable for someone so young. Anyways, please remember to be kind to one another and to yourselves and have a great rest of your week! :)
