I never thought to make different colors and first cut. Lol now I'm going to have to play with my lol one I have.

Yes, it leaves the imprint. You can turn the cutting side of the die toward the same plate each time but the plates need to be replaced
after a while. They will also warp. You can use a toothbrush to help remove the die cut.
