St. George of Dhivri

Dhivri, as well as Dhroviani, own the majority of holy temples. This is not only because the village lies on a vast plateau of the Mount Dhiver but also for the fact that in the past there existed many other villages that disappeared over the centuries. Gripped on the lap of the mountain, the temple of St. George was built for the first time in the 9th century. The icon of the Dormition of St. Mary and the icons of St. Nicholas and St. George were completed in the 15th century. In the year 1600 it was painted the icon The Descent to Hades while the icon of the Allmighty Jesus was completed in 1680. The temple consists of the temple, the pretemple or the narthex and the porch. The entrance is divided into three domes, among which the middle one is higher and wider than the other two. The temple is lit from the narrow windows.
