Great reviews Abby!! I am soooo hyped for the Emily Wilde book, it sounds delightful! And it sounds like we had very similar feelings on Daughters of Izdihar. I watched Sarah's review on it and she mentioned that she would've liked to have gotten more POVs, espcially from Nico and Malak, which I 100% agree with, they seemed to be a lot more interesting than the MCs.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

It's maybe a bit harsh, but your description of Nahal reminded me of Robin Swift in Babel 🥴 I wish Kuang had fleshed-out much more her secret society idea and made it a clever read, but it just ended up being "Robin against the world" (which made no sense since the scholars knowing their craft would still work for the Empire even if they didn't have access to the Tower). Also, the "in your face" message that Kuang would drill into your head again and again. 💀

Emily Wilde sounds lovely though, glad you enjoyed it! ❤️

I kept seeing Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia around but didn't have much interest in it until now. You've definitely sold me! Especially if there's great banter. Also sidenote, this has to be one of my favorite thumbnails you've done!

Encyclopedia of Fairies is on my TBR. I can't wait to read it even more so because you enjoyed it. Daughters of Izdihar sounds interesting. I may have to borrow that one from my library first before picking up a copy. Thanks for your reviews!

Ooh two fantastic reviews. I hadnt thought much about Encylopedia of Fairies but I think I might need to get to it. I just ordered a copy of The Daughters of Izdhihar from Broken Binding, as all the things you spoke about I think would click with me haha I sometimes love a book thats bit blunt of its message haha

I love the cover of Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries 😍
I've been really interested in the Daughters of Izdihar, I like the sound of elemental magic mixed with fighting for women's rights! I think I'll wait for the sequel to come out and then I'll give it a try 😁

It is 2:37 am and I have just finished Encyclopedia of Faeries and am kind of dumbstruck (this is the first romance book I’ve read) at how good it is. Currently scrambling for content. Thank you for sating me!

I still have to read Emily and you’ve only made me more excited! I totally understand why those things would put you off Daughters! And I would be super interested to see if the author has ever spoken about how she wrote Nehal bc to me her impulsivity and some of the decisions she made read as if she were being coded as neurodivergent similar to how Giorgina was coded for anxiety. But that very well could just be me looking for connections and explanations where there isn’t really one!

My feelings were the exact same on The Daughters if Izdihar and I’m not quite sure I’m going to read the next book.

Hmm, I'm not sure which cover would win for The Daughtersof Izdihar. I like the UK and US covers about equally.
