From timber to boiler this video shows how we collect, store, and burn sawdust to generate steam for the Longwood campus.

Since the early 1980's Longwood has utilized this waste product as a sustainable fuel source for our boiler plant. By burning sawdust instead of conventional fuels we are not only proving that biomass is a sustainable fuel source but also saving millions of dollars in fuel costs.
