The head of Physics in the school where I used to work, asked me to build a device capable of demonstrating De Broglie’s theorem. 20 years on and it is still used to teach A Level students.

Now I know why I always hit the door edge even though I’m walking straight!

Honestly your five minutes video is better than my teacher's 1 hour lecture. Thank you for saving my a level 😭

in short on how electron is a wave: a beam of electrons are charged by voltage and then makes contact with a ionic lattic surface and forms a circular shape with spaces in between them, just like a dropping something in water it creates small waves with wave fronts.those space are like the node and the electrons that makes up the circle are the anti nodes. hope this might help cause I had to spend 5 hours to know how electrons resembles a wave. cheers.

In 5:35 by poping this in de Brogile equation you broke physics :p At Va = 255 kV electrons are faster than light! :D To all who need this information for their tests or reports - before putting that into the main equation, you need to acknowledge relativistic effects. But the video is a very nice popular science knowledge :) thumb up ;)

I wonder if the buddha sitting under tree saw his own mind diffracting?

Excuse my laziness... but what is the typical speed of the electron inside a CRT or magnetron?

The 26 inches color TV used 25 kv. The largest CRT ever produced at 37 inches were using 35 kv.

I am surprised that the equation only contain a linear part. I was thinking that, as we approach the speed of light, the energy (or voltage ?) needed to speed up the electron just a little closer to the speed of light would have to be increased toward infinity.

For the magnetron, the acceleration voltage is only 4000 volts, much slower than in CRT, but the radio wave emitted by these electrons hitting the cavities start travelling at the speed of light ... in air... which is virtually identical.

at 4:11, isn't cathode positively charged and anode negatively charged? why is it switched around
