Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited the South Pacific island nation of Fiji on May 30. China and Fiji have established diplomatic ties since the mid-1970s. Since then, the two countries have conducted frequent exchanges in economy, culture, science and technology, education and other fields.

How do people in Fiji see China? CGTN Global Stringer met with Fijian residents to find out what they think about the relationship between China and Fiji and what they expect from the two countries' cooperation.

As a Fijian I am hoping that my country will look towards the East for more/better business relations. China/Russia/India is where opportunity is. The western economy is slowly dying.
