Hello. Thank you for making this video. I did as you said, and I added the carpet cleaner vacuum to it. The spot cleaner wasn't sucking up any water expect one dirty spot. I used cologne because I didn't have any disinfectant until I found Lysol. I should have waited. Lol

THANK YOU! I'm trying to figure out how to clean up some camping/trifold mattresses we have, as my son and I suffer from serious dust mite allergies, and these mattresses are riddled with their poop! :-P I guess we're gonna have to start by buying a hepa filter vacuum. Probably a good idea to have that anyway for our allergies! ;-) Cheers!!!

I just sprinkle some diatomaceous earth. Surprisingly I don't feel itchy anymore at night 🙃

500g of dead skin a year can't all remain on the surface of the mattress. Can it? Where does it, the mites and their poo go? Into the room or can they penetrate the interior of the mattress? If the mattress is 15-20cm thick, does hoovering do much to remove anything that's penetrated the interior of the mattress? I have a mattress that got a few mould spots while in storage. I cleaned it but some mould spots reappeared. Is it shot for good or can something be done about it? It's not enormously mouldy on the surface, just a few spots. Thank you.

Wouldn't a vacuum with a disposable bag be more efficient to get rid of the dust mites? The suction power is usually not as good in bagless vacuums compared to the ones with a disposable bag. Furthermore what happens to the mites when you have to clean the bagless vacuum?

My mattress actually got a mattress protector I just checked, if I remember correctly it’s to prevent sweat and liquid from going into the mattress, it feels plastic like. So does it block dust mites too? Thanks for your help.

I usually clean both sides of my mattress and the box spring both sides, it seems like just doing the top side is not enough, do you clean both sides of your mattress?

Hey, what happens if the mattress has stains as well (old sweat stains etc).... should you remove stains (follow your vomit stain remover clip using Hydo Peroxide, the iron and towel etc) first... and then sanitise, or should you sanitise and then remove stains... does the order actually matter? - would this work 1. vaccum up 2. baking soda to bring up oils and moisture to the surface, leave for 25 mins 3. vaccum that up . 4. remove stains via hydro peroxide video tips (btw, can you let me know the exact quantities in your formula), iron over a towel ... repeat process until stains have removed... 6. then do the things in this video Vacum again, then sanitise using rubbing alcohol 7. open up windows.. leave to dry for a few hours... would this be okay?

I just moved into Uni and would like to clean my mattress since I have a life threatening dust allergy. I already clean things down once a week with bleach, how often should I do this with the mattress?

Hi, thank you for the guide. I wanted to check can I use a mini turbo head (non-electric) on a Numatic vacuum (Henry or Hetty) or must we purchase a Shark vacuum?

You must have demodex (eyelash mites). And being allergic to mites and having mites on your eyelashes is not a good combination.

Man, I bought a Memory foam mattress last Summer on which I managed to sleep Just the First 3 nights then I Always woke up with allergic breathing crisis and persistent pricking. I think I May Be allergical to Memory foam, but probably It Is Also infested by mites. I cleaned several times with vacuum cleaner, but I never used anything else to sanitize but sodium bicarbonate. Looks like It was useless. Do you recommend me to use some alchool solution, Is It really good against mites? Also the process of microfiber towel wet with dishes soap and hot water looks so useful! I Hope these products won't Ruin the mattress!
Very helpful video anyway and Sorry for long comment!
