When making dua the etiquette is to Glorify and praise Allah, send salawat upon nabi s.a.w and THEN make dua. To end with the same and increase salawat throughout will gurantee dua being answered, but the first part is a minimum.

The bit where Tam talks about kids making you soft - and tearing up for That is so true!

I also used to have a hard time shedding a tear - and it would worry me that my heart might be hardened - and it can't weep for the sake of

Then my wife gave birth to our only daughter - and I teared the moment she and have been weeping ever since for emotional things.

Interesting to note: I have 3 boys as well - and as happy as I was when they were born, I didn't have that teary moment.

Daughters are truly a special gift to a man - daughters make you a man.
