I (German) grew up in the Dominican Republic during the 90s. The best time of my life. i started dancing when i was 13 years old in Discotheques. No one making fun of me... just the opposite... everyone was so supportive seeing me wanting to learn so bad, especially as a foreigner. i learned the meaning of Rhythm at a very early age... and let me tell u... it will never leave me 🥰

Merengue is in my opinion the most beautiful form of dance and music, it’s the genuine joy that you feel while dancing not much choreography, whoever takes the lead is the one who guides. Your body just tells you what to do you don’t really need to know all the steps. I Love this video because it isn’t some boring tutorial, it shows the passion and the raw joy in the dance.

Merengue is the best latin dance: great infectious beat, great moves. This is a really cute couple that moves fantastic together. I like how there is really only one step so that any couple can do it, if they start with keeping it simple. I would love to see Merengue sweep the country (after Covid is over, of course). I like saying the word: "Merengue".
