Getting the side tables for the Busy Bee saw cleaned up. I painted the inside of the grid black and coated the top with one layer of lacquer.

Interesting idea - I was going to burn that chair, but now I think I'll keep it, just for painting stuff on.

Paste wax is a good protectant. Not the best, but it will work pretty well, plus you get a little bit of friction reduction from the wax on the table surface which is good as well.

By the way i like how you built the extension and out feed tables.
I am thinking of adding an out feed table and an extension for a router on the right side.
However I have a different rip fence than you with rails both on front and back of the table, need to find a smart way to mount it.
Also like the idea of a little pin hole for the table saw insert.

Looking forward to how you finish the Delta after the Busy Bee seems almost done.

I have a question. My son has painted the whole top of his table saw. Can he spray some lacquer on the top so the paint won't transfer to the wood? Or should he sand it back down to the metal? The table saw is 9in Rockwell and it did have a painted on black top.

John, some youtube videos I seen used Johnsons paste wax for some of there tool surfaces.I used this method for my table saw and scroll saw .They came out great.Do you recommend this method or did I do the wrong thing.
