There needs to be two different acting categories: biography and original. I think it's very different for an actor to take a character from a script and actually CREATE that character's mannerisms, pace of speech, etc. When an actor can watch hours and hours of video footage of someone, it seems like an unfair advantage.

Ellen Burstyn's performance in "Requiem For a Dream" is a masterpiece. She should have won the Oscar in 2001, not Julia Roberts. The Academy only awarded Roberts because she was on the rise at the time.

Emma Stone sticks out like a sore thumb, she's a great actress but that performance did not beat Portman's Jackie or Amy Adam's Arrival or Taraji P. Henson's for Hidden Figures.
