'We're getting soft:' Gov. Bevin criticizes cold weather closings

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin criticized what he called a national trend of school districts canceling classes due to extreme cold temperatures.

Yeah he's a real hunter/gatherer type, even if his own children get a ride to school, via the governor's own private public transportation, I'd bet it's a pretty sweet ride, too.

In areas where it is often this cold, kids go to school, but in generally warmer areas, the children do not have the proper clothing and the schools are not set up with winter wear they can borrow. Also, the children do not know the dangers of cold. So in Kentucky keep them home. In northern Minnesota and North Dakota, the schools need to make sure everyone has proper winter wear and off they go in the cold.

I think he should avoid getting in his warm cushy car to work and walk to his office like many of these children have to do on a daily basis.

He hates public schools that's why he says the ridiculous stuff that he does. Him and his family have went to private school their whole lives. They have never stood out at a bus stop. His goal is to close all public schools. That way the middle class will go to the nearest bank and take out a huge loan to send their children to school, not to mention saving for college and a mortgage if you buy a house. People like him want the middle class in debt for a lifetime. He's all about the money! Hope KY gets rid of him when he runs again. His own party doesn't even like him.

By tonight on to tomorrow we need to hits to single digits like 5 or 0 temperture and maybe hits the negative Mark like -5 or maybe -10 that be great and we need a winter weather advisory by 2:00 this afternoon on to 1:00 tomorrow afternoon and called off school and I am not feeling good as for right now

Love how he is calling schools soft for cancelling school during dangerous temperatures and extreme temperatures depending on the location while the education he wants them to attend makes people even softer but that's actually a good thing. Knowing when to take precautions is fine and school will teach you that. Yes there is being "too soft" but there is also something called being "too hard"

Soft? No, it's SMART!  Its 2019 Governor, they can actually program for the year schools days for bad weather or whatever for the Safety of our children.
