There was a time s baby was absolutely screaming in a supermarket and the mother was on line in front of me struggling to hold the baby and pay at the same time. I offered to hold her and this baby broke into the biggest smile through the tears and it just made my day. I didn't expect the baby to be so happy about it.

As a flight attendant I would always hold the baby for a minute to give the parents a break… the babies loved ME 😘🥰😘

I don't know if anyone ever told you, but Babies have a very difficult time with Air Travel, due to the pressure inside the cabin of the plane & the different altitudes Babies CAN NOT Pop their ears so the pressure can sometimes bother them, so in order to help them pop their ears bring a bottle of water or juice for them to suckle from, swallowing allows them to Pop their Ears due to the pressure in the cabin of the plane. I hope this helps the next time you have to travel by air, as your Baby gets older give them Sippy Cups that they can drink from.

I love stories like this. Usually you just hear people complaining about babies on planes and how terrible their parents are because they can't keep them quiet. It makes me so anxious to fly with my baby for the first time in a few weeks.

But this reassures me that most people will be understanding and maybe even helpful. Not yelling at me for being a bad parent for even needing to fly with a baby.

Fifty years ago I boarded a military charter flight in Manila that was mostly full of Air Force dependents returning from Thailand. I was seated next to an exhausted mom with a baby and a three year old. After I offered to hold the baby so that the mom could tend to the other child, the baby soon went to sleep in my arms. Both mom and baby slept most of the way to our next stop in Taiwan. They got rest, I got to feel like a human being again for the first time in many months.

Once we saw a mom alone with twins on a plane. My mom offered to hold one and she held the baby for most of the flight. My mom and I get scared in planes and it made our day.
