Before Steve Perry, Journey had Gregg Rolie, then Robert Fleischman as their lead vocalists. Then came Steve Perry and his unique voice MADE Journey. When Steve left, Journey set out to find another lead vocalist and found Arnel on the internet, and the group needed to have him. Steve Perry was Journey then, Arnel is Journey now. Without either one and their voice, there really is no Journey. So give credit where credit is due. Who cares if Arnel isn't Steve? They each contribute to Journeys success and longevity. Thank you to both artists. And thank you to the Journey band members for bringing in Arnel. Wish you all continued success.

Often imitated never duplicated there is only one Steve Perry ❤ I saw the original Journey 3 times when i was young 😮 The most memorable was at City Park Stadium in New Orleans 4th of july weekend 🎉 It had rained so the field was full of mud. It was hot sweaty & everyone was irritated by the uncomfortable conditions. It was misery waiting for the warm up bands to play. I believe one of them was "Yes". Finally the big screens lit up showing the tour bus entering New Orleans earlier that day. Everyone was screaming & going wild! If that weren't enough they switch to Steve Perry shaving his face in a hotel bathroom. It was pure pandemonium after that! Every single miserable second was worth it when Journey hit the stage 😍 At the end Steve sang "Open Arms" TO US! Soaked in sweat Steve put it all out there with every thing he had! His beautiful voice, his energy depleted, every single note so pure i cried it was just that good. The last song they blasted fireworks off the stage over the park & not just a few like most concerts this was a full on fireworks show! Ive been to many concerts before that & many after but not one can compare to it in all its heart, soul & pure love! Here i'am age 60 now with just the memories but by God they KICKED ASS!!! 😇💙
