Today I visit The Lodmoor - a Brewer's Fayre pub / restaurant in Weymouth.

It has the worst Google review score of any pub or restaurant I can find in Dorset.

But is it really that bad? Let's find out!!

I booked a table in that pub while on holiday in Weymouth...When I walked into the building, I was hit with the stench of rank body odour, sticky tables and floor, loud members of staff shouting at each other and a feeling of complete depression. I walked straight back out again.

20 years ago i was a head chef in the best rated brewers fare and a chef trainer for them. In those days we really cared about the food we put out then they stated replacing chefs with people from abroad that did not care about the quality as long as the food went out and they got paid .Its why i retired from being a chef.

The fact that u had a camera and still got subpar food indicates they don't really care anymore

Brewer’s Fayre is aimed at the captive market of the Premier Inn guests being too knackered after a long drive to go anywhere else. Been there, done that. Now I don’t have to book a Premier Inn any longer, I don’t have to endure a Brewers Fayre meal. Thanks for ‘giving it a go’! Was good to see someone else coming to the same conclusion I have on those places.

For all the criticism Wetherspoon gets, their mixed grill looks far better than that, and also much cheaper. They even at least use free range eggs, which should be a bare minimum

I'm a Poole lad and it's good to see you reviewing some of my old haunts. The Mountbatten Arms(Millar and Carter )in Wallisdown was my local, originally a Whitbread pub then a Beefeater about 1981.
Give Sonnys Cafe in Alder Road a try. Great breakfast.

I think 3/10 was being generous, especially with the sticky table. I saw those reviews said the same thing and it's unacceptable. The 6.2/10 on Google was way too generous. Thanks for warning us.
