I like this method! I made a clamshell quilt once, and the curved piecing really gave me a headache, and I swore never again. This looks so much easier, and I love applique.

Good evening Laura Ann, this is definitely a quilt for a more sophisticated room, but it could be a man's quilt no problem i think, but i'm only on my 2nd quilt so what would i know. I do think though that matching pillow shams would be lovely, tie backs in the clam design, with the backing material as curtains (i'm a nightmare for like thinks matching in) this would just finish off an elegant room.
