It is a strange feeling watching them. You can’t help but watch over and over again. Here these people are, many in their prime and yet now gone. Each one had a name and place in this world, dreams and aspirations, family and loved ones. All that and yet here they are anonymous, forgotten and unknown. Makes you realise how unimportant we all are. We’ll all be like them oneday.

Pick any one of these people and follow them on the screen for the duration of the scene. They never could have imagined that thousands of people, nearly a hundred years from that moment would be watching those fleeting and seemingly insignificant seconds in their lives with such interest. They have all left this world by now. Each had a story to tell . Each left their influences. Some lived a long time, and some lived short lives. They played a role in what We experience today as we will play a role in what those who follow us will experience. The scene is of 12th Avenue and 42nd Street in New York City. It is a morning rush hour and most of the people seen here had just exiting a ferryboat that came in from Weehawken New Jersey. The young man in the T- shirt is a stock person who has just delivered a stack of newspapers to the newsstand vendor. The vendor is seen paying him. After observing the cameraman, the man in the T-shirt heads back to get another supply of newspapers.

It’s amazing watching that young man, almost reluctantly, disappear into the ocean of time. He wants to stay a while but then makes the decision to go about his day, which in turn becomes the rest of his life. A life we’ll probably never grasp or acquire even the smallest shreds of information on. There is a deep sense of wanting to reach out and speak to these humans. A deep sense that we don’t want to be forgotten like they were. Something beautiful about them living their lives so long ago without knowing we’re watching over them. Almost makes you want to cry.

This is one of my favorites. The depression was beginning to take a toll. Many of these handsome men had been veterans of WWI and many more of them would be fighting and dying in just over a decade. Like us today, they were just living the life they knew, with no idea what the future held. It’s always so meaningful to look at these faces, knowing they all completed their earthly lives. It’s a humbling reminder from the Bible that there’s a time to live and a time to die. Beautifully restored. Thank you! ❤

I loved the video, it's as if I was transported to that time, you can even feel their problems and concerns, at the same time you feel joy in being able to watch lives passing by, and then sadness.

We'll all be these people one day. Just a memory of someone who was a part of this world and now no more. Life is short everyone -- go live it before you can't.

My great grandparents were that age somewhere in NYC in the 1930s .I look for them in the crowd and know they’re out there just beyond the edges of the video living their lives. This is a special channel

my nan was born in the 1930's and she had her 90th birthday last month. The next day she ended up in hospital with a blocked bladder or something and they had to operate on her straight away but because she has heart problems and her age, there was more than 50% chance she wouldn't make it. But she made it through and is returning home tomorrow! Recovering well. Amazing she was born around the time of this filming in the 30's and what she just went through and is still fighting strong! love her so much!

It really puts into perspective how little time we have on earth, the days/weeks/months we feel unhappy are wasted, I’m really trying to change my outlook on the world and value every single day to enjoy life. I don’t want to be old and look back and regret all the things I didn’t do. It’s a scary thought knowing once you’re gone, a few generations go by and you’re forgotten about forever. We need to thoroughly make the most of our lives while we’re living

That dark haired young man buying the paper was very handsome! His suit had four buttons on the sleeves which indicates good quality. I will assume the young ladies back then noticed too. I hope he had a meaningful life.❤❤❤❤❤

Look at all of the beautiful old cars! These people were probably on their way to work, picking up the daily newspaper. What a wonderful video!

Wow the man who kept looking into the camera was really awesome. Made me feel a lot of emotions. I wonder where he went that day.
