The #plastics business would like you to believe that #recycling is #effective so that they may continue to exist. Absolutely, you should keep up your recycling efforts.

But if you really want to make a difference, you should cut back or eliminate your usage of #plastic and support legislation that would restrict single-use plastics.

Plastics manufacturers are using the same playbook as cigarette companies, and it's possible they may never accept that recycling plastics has been a failure.

I do recycle plastic packages because I was told about 15% gets recycled here in Sweden, which is better than nothing, and I can't reduce my plastic consumption to 0.

I think it could be interesting to make a video on the different "recycling" symbols put on plastics. It's a devious design to also obfuscate for the normal consumer that not all plastics is even recyclable. People just look at the symbol, sees the recycling arrows, and think that this will be recycled, when in fact the numbers or letters inside determine its recyclability. The purpose is to give an overall image of that all the plastics is recyclable so it's fine to consume more of it.

I know they're not the solution but, what about bioplastics and biodegradable plastics?

The solution is reduction and replacement of plastics but until then, high temperature incineration with energy recovery and pollution control. And carbon capture when/if viable. Producing electricity and district heating, close to the source of the waste.
