Model 1/570 Titanic Sinking and Splitting

Nobody reads descriptions anyways, but keep in mind:
1. I split my model according to the CGI from Titanic 100, which it nearly perfectly replicates.
2. Nobody needs another comment about how it didn't split like how it did in the movie or in other theories. I am aware that it looks different and there are many theories about how it split. If you didn't read this, feel free to add another comment about the split and look silly.
3. Not for sale.
4. The splitting mechanism is explained in another video on my channel.
5. I'll try to answer any questions, feel free to ask.
6. Enjoy! Thanks everyone.

That was actually pretty cool, sunk and went down quite similar to the real thing, good job

Omg. Your like the first person to split the model in the correct spot. Great work

I'm so impressed that you got the list right in addition to the break-up!

the model itself didnt take too long to build since its a relatively simple kit, but most of the time was spent doing trial and error because theres so much that has to work correctly like the heights of the bulkheads, the iceberg holes, the splitting mechanism, the balancing of the ship...all that trial and error took me probably under 2 months working on the model a few hours a week. i also had to change how the forward deck attaches so i can easily access the splitting mech which took 10 mins

Congrats on getting the split in the right place!!!! That's the only sinking and splitting I've seen we're it splits in the right spot

anybody still watching this?

lol i know this is really old but cant we just appreciate how realistic it actually sunk?

1. 0:24 you can actually see it leaning towards the right
2. the fact that the speed actually accelerated when it reaches the bridge
3. it didn't actually raised high enough to break in half like in the movie which is good considering it didnt actually needed to be that high for it to split
4. the stern actually raised up before its final plunge
5. the way it actually goes down the water is accurate.

thanks! its good to know theres somebody else out there who analyzed it that much as well :)

This is a great demonstration. I thought about this, and I remember that the bow actually hung onto the stern section via the double bottom, and that it was the bow that pulled the stern underwater (else it would have floated like a cork for longer). And I was thinking that for a future video, you could go all out and add that effect to it.

Also, just for a future reference, you may want to take a video of it when the water is nearly perfectly calm. Just a suggestion...

That is amazing! It doesn't matter if it doesn't split as high up or whatever, I couldnt even custom a model like that if I tried!

I don’t know what disturbs me more, seeing this, or knowing that someone made a toy of this event. Either way, powerful video.

Holy crap, I can't believe you got 11, 188 people to watch this. And only 2 of them were me. Nice job, broski.

WAY better than the movie. My heart went on.

This is a very good job, rising to almost 40 degrees just before splitting in half, right before the 3rd funnel ( just aft of the 1st class lounge, you can clearly see where it split on the wreak) Forget the cgi, remember what Jack Thayer and Ruth Becker said how the Titanic sank, they were there! In another few years there will be another theory about how the Titanic sank.

how could it not? is my small model supposed to sink in almost 3 hours real time? how would that be more realistic?

i have another video showing the splitting mechanism and it also can give you a basic idea on how to compartmentalize the ship, but honestly a big help to me when i was making it was the rapidnadion tutorial for their 1/350 sinking model. its a whole lot of trial and error though

“Yo, why is the ship shaking so much?”

I didn't realize there were surveillance videos of the actual sinking...

just...hobby stuff. its a plastic model made by revell, i used CA glue to glue it, window sealant to waterproof the bulkheads, small clippers to cut the parts off the parts trees, an exacto knife to trim and cut stuff, hot soldering iron to make berg damage, and plastic paint to paint it. the list goes on and on
