Welcome to episode #5 of Comfort Stitching. In this video I announce the winner of the 7,500 subscriber drawing for the velvet strawberry kit and the handmade acorn pin/needle cushion & wool leaf needlebook. Since I saw you last you've all helped this channel achieve yet another milestone! I'll share progress on my current WIPS and the latest news on the search for Bridget Power. I have some stitchy kindness, "stash enhancement," plans, and a beautiful poem by the Irish poet, author, priest, and philosopher, John O'Donohue to close things out. As always, I appreciate you and thank you so very much for watching!

You don’t need to follow the crowd! I follow you because you don’t! Even though I love several FlossTubes and I know we want to do it all, it’s supremely peaceful to watch your chats and be motivated by your calm inspiration. That said, I am looking forward to the barbaraana 4 seasons. They have long been on my wish list and I love the idea of the different color linens.

Thank you for an appearance by the beloved Archie. He's precious. The words of calm are always appreciated. Best always to you and Archie.

The message I’ve gotten from your quest to find Bridget is that all artists no matter the genre leave a part of themselves in their work. I’m thinking how surprised Bridget would have been as she stitched, that a conversation would be had about her in the year 2024! I remember seeing this pattern in online shops and never really could see it well. I didn’t understand it. Seeing your stitching brings it to life. It is beautiful. While I am Catholic, I’m not Irish, but yes the symbolism makes sense to me. Thank you for taking the time to search for Bridget and giving us some information about her. I hope you find her full story. What a beautiful gift she gave the world. What a beautiful gift you continue to give us.

Hi Jackie! Oh how I love Bridget Power. I stitched her a few years ago and she remains one of my all time top samplers. I am so, so happy to see that you and so many others are stitching her. I also love the deep dive you are embarking on to find her. Indeed, she lives on! ❤

Loved hearing all about Bridget! Being a lifelong Catholic, the symbolism and meaning of what you shared was very touching and I thank you for following your heart in wanting to know more. Hoping there will be more to come.

When I look at Bridget’s sampler I get the feeling of abundance and wealth. This young girl might have been of an extremely wealthy family, with a chapel in their property, with curtains that closed when the mass ended, living in a home with abundant flower arrangements, who had an extremely talented embroiderer as a tutor.
I would encourage research in convents and their schools.
Great job Jackie!

Wow! I just found your floss tube and have gone back to watch your earlier ones. Thank you for sharing your love of color and your reasons why you make changes. It feels like a friend speaking to you. Your Lillies is very inspiring, I need to make more changes.

Love all the talk about Bridget. I ordered from the Attic this past week. I sent an email, even though they said they were busy getting ready for Summer School and might be delayed responding, I heard from them the next day. Then a phone call to them with payment info and I was done.

Your visits are such a gift. Thank you for your work on finding Bridget Power. Dying to start her but I also love your influence on me to not start a million more things, …just be mindful of what is in my hands at the moment. Lots of time goes into caring for a pet that needs medical attention.! May it all go well! Get well wishes from m Airedale Cindy!

I was just on The Attics website and saw a picture of Brigit Power stitched. It is stunning! I look forward seeing your progress. I will probably never stitch it, so I am living vicariously through you!

Our dog had surgery for the same ligament problem. It happened again on his other back leg and he was put on anti inflammatories because he was getting to old for surgery. His leg healed and didn’t need surgery. We wished we had tried that the first time!

I so enjoy your videos Jackie! It is interesting to hear about your research about Bridget Powers. I am praying for Archie, and I hope all goes well with hiss surgery. Hopefully he will recover completely and be back to his old self soon!

Poor Archie! Cruciate ligament tears are no fun! My small dog has had surgeries on both. I even threw my mattress on the floor for 8 weeks during her recovery! Happy to report she can still run and jump up at 12 yrs old! We did buy her stairs for the bed and of course we have to sometimes lift her. I wish you and Archie the best. If you haven't already ask vet about LED light therapy after Archie's surgery. It really helps the healing process.
