Part 1 of 2 from the "Fan Selection for Grain Drying and Storage" series from NDSU Extension. This video shows what static pressure is, how to measure it and how it pertains to proper grain drying. In the video the effect of correctly and incorrectly sized perforated floors, air velocity and grain depth on static pressure are effectively demonstrated as well as the effect of inadequate bin vents. Part 2: "Grain Drying and Storage Fan Characteristics" can be found at the following link:

Thank you for allowing us to video the fans. Please share the video to help people understand airflow principles associated with grain bins.

I came here looking for a guide to computer airflow but I watched the whole video. There were so many interesting experiments and insights to learn from. Thank you for this and keep it up. :-)

Great job, Ken & production people! There is so much information regarding airflow in bins, this video is a great start to understanding some of the basic concepts. Keep up the good work. I hope you don't mind if we put a link to this video on our Facebook page. - Gateway Building Systems Inc.

im building a hoovercraft, and i was thinking of using a grain bin fan as a lift fan.
The fan would need to move 8580 cfm with a static pressure of 2 inches of water.
I am having trouble finding specs for these fans power requirements included, any information would be greatly appreciated

also it needs to have an air velocity of 58 ft/sec
