The month has October 1, 2, 3 and 4 as normal, then the calendar strangely skips to October 15 – and it's not an iPhone glitch as many first thought! There really were only 21 days in October 1582, and it's all because of the switch to the new Gregorian calendar in that year.

It was a change from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar
The difference is that the gregorian calendar is 10 days further than the julian calendar

The Year was
thought to be: 365.25 days
Actual year : 365.24 days
Resulted in : 10 days difference (Across 1582 years)
Edit: basically this small difference is the same as 1 day every 128 years so to fix this drift they made every century year not to be a leap year except century years that are divisible by 400.
(Ex. 1600 ✅ a leap year
1700 ❌not a leap year
1800 ❌not a leap year
1900 ❌not a leap year
2000 ✅a leap year
2100 ❌not a leap year )
Fun fact: even this new update isn't accurate enough and that causes every 3, 333 years there will be a day increase.

Edit:1day increase per 128years is equivalent to
11 minutes increase per year.
