How significant is the subconscious? Though Freudian psychology is mostly discredited, most of our mental activity is indeed subconscious.

Deja vu, ("already seen") is a French loanword expressing the feeling that one has lived through the present situation before. It is an anomaly of memory whereby, despite the strong sense of recollection, the time, place, and practical context of the "previous" experience are uncertain or believed to be impossible. Two types of déjà vu are recognized: the pathological déjà vu usually associated with epilepsy or that which, when unusually prolonged or frequent, or associated with other symptoms such as hallucinations, may be an indicator of neurological or psychiatric illness, and the non-pathological type characteristic of healthy people, about two-thirds of whom have had déjà vu experiences. People who travel often or frequently watch films are more likely to experience déjà vu than others. Furthermore, people also tend to experience déjà vu more in fragile conditions or under high pressure, and research shows that the experience of déjà vu also decreases with age.

Can the subconscious sense phenomenon external to the person? Does the subconscious have a sense perception different than nerves and brain? Could the light effect the brain other than sight, such as heat or other property? Perhaps the wave portion of the light is stimulating the subconscious / brain.

Energy and energy frequencies interacting with other energy and energy frequencies causes things to occur, even if we are not consciously aware of that energy interaction occurring.

Many NDE (near death experiences) whereby the individual claims to "see" what is going on in the room, seems like this could be related by whatever this phenomena is. But basically then, "out of body" experiences are probably all still just occurring within the brain and not occurring in actual reality, other than in the brain.

Fascinating! Looking up these experiments! I've read similar accounts of neuro-physiological experiments by VS Ramachandran et al. Glad to stumble across more!
