Can't believe this couple vacationed here often, but they never took off their shoes outside!!

I lived in Hawaii for over 35 years. All 3 homes were nice, but the main thing that got me: THEY DIDN'T TAKE OFF THEIR SHOES before coming inside!

David is the only host who makes house hunting fun. 😊

One thing that surprises me is these older couples don't think about the stairs. We moved from a 2 story to a ranch because of the difficulty doing stairs as you age. If you want this to be your forever home = you have to take this into consideration and the fact her mother is coming to live with them - bad choice.

David is HGTV’s best host by far. Him and Jonathan Knight are so warm and nice and kind and GENUINE.

I would have gone with #2 or #3. Both were gorgeous. #1 looks like it needs quite a bit of ❤ to make it special. 😊

I liked # 2 the best. The pool, the landscaping and one level. I liked #1 next, although the stairs would be an issue in time. #3 was too barren.

They picked the worst imho. The other two were so much nicer!

First lesson for mainlanders moving here in Hawaii…TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES! Before you come inside the house

Love the new build. Huge lot, so many possibilities. And #2 was a simple, gorgeous property already. This show was a bit of a mind bender, especially given the stairs. 🤔

They can easily do Airbnb with the first when no relatives visiting.

Big Island is not a great place to live for the elderly or sick. All the major specialists and hospitals are on Oahu. Many people don't consider the reality of upkeep for solar, water catchment, and volcano/hurricane threat along with limited resources. The isolation and can be overwhelming. For anyone out there with easy living fantasy of Hawaii needs to do their research.

Sad that a lot of the natives cannot afford living in their own native land and have to move to places like Vegas.

Kind of surprised they didn't take their shoes off before entering.

Hawaii has the best Goodwill and thrift stores in America since people leave all their stuff behind when they move off the islands.

I wonder if they financially factor in the yard maintenance and housework as they age, as well as the stairs for poor old mum..
