As someone living on social security and in a HUD apartment, I’d like to observe that increases in SS is almost always in tandem with increases in our HUD rents and Medicare costs, leaving those of us in this situation rarely seeing an increase in spending power. If HUD and Medicare would decrease costs or at least hold steady, we could celebrate a little.

Social Security increases usually happen at the beginning of each year, January.

Social Security announced recently that COLA (Cost of Living) in 2024 will be 3. 2 %. We get an increase every January. It is in a separate pot from Congress.

Every time I think of him, I think of when he turned red from anger and sounded like he was about to cry.
