You slide forward to thrust the opponent’s face, but he backs away diagonally. Then he tries to thrust your temple. By using this technique, you can parry the attack and counterattack simultaneously. In german longsword tradition this would be (probably) called durchwechseln zum duplieren, where durchwechseln is runing around with the tip and duplieren cut to enemy from the position behind his blade. I really like these similarities with HEMA, it is good proof the technique is valid. And of course, I like the precise performance of the technique from both gentlemen, it is pleasing to watch (as always), I saw the video like 20 times or more before I posted this 😅

It is a very common movement in Southeast Asia called the "kuda" or 'horse". Sometimes both feet move at once. Sometimes the back foot will replace the front. Sometimes the reverse.
