I don't exactly feel lonely around Christmas time but I have felt that Christmas spirit fading away the last few years. I'm just not excited for it anymore. I used to love the tree and decorating and presents and playing Christmas music all of December, but now I feel like I have to force myself to participate cuz my mom loves it. Just doesn't seem like there's really much to celebrate anymore.

Everybody is celebrating with family and friends.. even my family is rubbing in my face what a good Christmas they are having when they know I’m gonna be alone with nothing to do because everything is closed during Christmas. Can’t even get out of the house.. Didn’t even bother to send me a little present.. I hope for a miracle this Christmas for everybody struggling and the new year to bring everybody happiness! This reminds me of a very dark period in my life when I felt I had nothing, yet I did. I was forced out of a job, which had become stressful beyond belief. Students were using foul language against me, one even threatened to get me. My college in Lancashire did nothing. My manager picked on me and accused me of veing confrontational with the students, which was a lie. It doesn't help that he was sacked 9 months later. It doesnt help knowing my team are still together and i am not part of them anymore. I am on a very low income now, I still teach, but 4 hours a week. I now earn a pittance, but I do have my own self respect. I am a great teacher, it was a shame my college did not recognise it. Goodbye that life. I can now sing this song without sobbing, but it still makes me cry.
