speaking of, today my 4 year old rigid battery drill got the wobbles, 1/2 chuck, tight on some rebar, grinding the oxide off from using it as a electrode to clean up some rusty tools of your farthers, using a 40 year old battery charger, and go, well that Lil 20 volt was not half bad, and it lasted drops and you have the impact but you need a good battery drill because your a electrician by trade with a home machine shop.. yeah...

Power tools rock! I haven't counted mine for ages :) Guess we should include air tools as well.
I remember putting up shelves as a kid, only having that basic style hand drill - that was drilling brick too for screw anchors - totally shagged me out even at that age LOL.
I've had a load of old drills like you showed. No cure, no cure at all.
I think you definitely need a few more Rob :-)

Rob I would have ten to a dozen drills in 240 v and six or eight cordless and funny thing they all get used, I have not finished buying them, not ever..You have struck a cord with me--I just love power tools--all tools actually and when I run out of room I will build a bigger shed..
Man its my hobby..

To be brutally honest I am not even certain how many drills I actually own. I probably have fewer than yourself, but perhaps not... Off hand I'd put it at less than 12 but more than 6... I did have one die on me fairly recently, so there's that. I want to tell you that there IS hope, I actually gave away a REALLY nice old heavy duty 1/2" drill a few years back!

Hi Rob, One thing you must always avoid. An add in the paper that says Estate Sale, Lifetime mechanic and collector. If you weaken and attend the sale, all attempts at recovery are futile.

I used the crap out of a 10 year old grinder the other day. never thought I'd ever have a need to use it like that
