Need hard copy homesteading/how to books. We all rely on videos like this too much.

You are a wise man. Probably would be good to have duplicates of those manual tools, for bartering purposes. Might could swap a drill or saw for some medicine, food, ammo, etc.

Thank you. For a person such as myself, who knows little, this video really helps. I have been going to garage sales and antique stores and this vid gives me guidance.

Battery-operated power tools with a solar generator to charge the batteries.

Look into a ram pump for your water. They have been around since before electricity. And you can build them from pvc.

Two Is One, And One Is None
I think is a military term.
The saying In Murphy’s Law is fatalistic (“Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong”)
My basic rule is always have a manual non electrical tool incase the electricity goes out it will come in handy.
Being single is one. Two working together ❤ is one working toward the same goals.

One of the things I love to do is go thrift. I go to estate sales, yard/garage sales, and thrift stores. In the past, I did that so I could find things for my eBay store. However, that's gotten tougher and more work that I really want. But, one of the things I can tell you, and encourage for that matter, is thrifting for tools, especially hand tools. I have not seen that big saw you were showing, but I've seen all kinds of stuff including that manual drill with all the bits. I've found all kinds of garden tools as well. And we are talking pennies on the dollar in most cases. It is an excellent way to increase your tool inventory without breaking the bank. Just my two cents.

I heard “one is none” for the first time in about 2000 working in semiconductor technology development.

Two is one and one is none you need back ups for everything just like on an airplane they have a pilot(Who sits in the left seat) and copilot (Who sits in the right seat)
