In this video I demonstrate how you can pair your Opticon OPN-2002 barcode reader with Android phones. I tried this on 3 Android phones and they all worked well. The phones were HTC Desire C, HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy Ace.

You need to install OpticonRL and OpticonRL Soft Keyboard apps from Play Store before trying to pair them.

Whenever you need to make the connection, use the OpticonRL app without even switching your Bluetooth on from settings. If the Bluetooth is off, it will be detected by the app anyway. Sometimes trying to switch Bluetooth on manually from settings is causing pairing issues and not connecting properly.

Another big issue is that sometimes you are able to scan the bar-codes and convert them to numbers but whenever you need to type something else, the keyboard is not appearing.

Also make sure that Opticon Soft Keyboard is on from settings and when you make type text, use the Opticon keyboard as your input keyboard.

I hope this video helps you to overcome this, looks like simple but may cause big headache pairing problem.
