Using hair shells operator you can generate hair or guides by feeding them through polygon mesh surfaces. This is a great way to utilize polygon modeling tools to drive the shape of hair, fur, and feathers and to create great looking hair effects. In this tutorial we learn how to get started with this technique by creating hair on a character using hair shells and Maya's mesh sculpting tools.
