DESCRIPTION:
TISSOT
This vintage Tissot is exactly what I’m talking about when I tell you watch geeks that, if you wait long enough, you’ll stumble upon truly valuable watches that wont break the bank. In the watch world, we lose sight of what a dollar means and what it should return us – this Tissot does the opposite. It's a completely classically designed piece, straight out of the 1950's with its radium arabic numerals, dauphine hands, steel beveled case and bumper movement. It’s infinitely cooler than most modern production watches 5 times its price and it’s my pleasure to offer it here!
ROLEX OYSTER 6424
Its clean, unobstructed dial gives room for the alpha hands to really stand out while its steel oyster case gives it the integrity to be relied upon. And the most special variable here is something you really have to experience to appreciate - the size. Unlike most Oyster Precision models, this example measures in at 36mm instead of 34 - making it a jumbo!
HUGEX CHRONOGRAPH
How Hugex managed to execute a chronograph with this much class and refinement is completely beyond me. It's as complicated as any two register timer but as slick as a vintage Omega Geneve - ready to fit right beneath your cuff. I know I'm partial to smaller, more formal watches but this Hugex is something I know we can all agree on. We’re lucky to have it and it’s our pleasure to share it with you.
OMEGA CHRONOSTOP
The Omega Chronostop is, without question, one of the most underrated watches the vintage world. Not only is it a manually wound mono-pusher chronograph manufactured by one of the most well respected brands of all time but its executed in a completely unique form. The caliber 856 that powers the Chronostop was designed for drivers; with a mechanism that immediately resets the second hand after being stopped, it's perfect for timing their short, speedy events in succession.
ROLEX DATE REF. 1500
It’s a Rolex Date, reference 1500. It was manufactured in 1974 and cased in 14K yellow gold. It features an absolutely mesmerizing champagne mosaic dial, which, if rare dials are your thing, will make you quite giddy. One second it’s soft, under the radar, and then as soon as it meets the sun, boom! It explodes. And look at that gold case – it’s extremely sharp. But even more delightfully, its original finishing remains – look at those lugs, brushed at their top and reflective at the side. Just as Rolex intended. On the wrist, it’s so much beefier than 34’s from Omega or Patek. The oyster case, acrylic crystal, cyclops, and thick lugs just add such body to a size that is, otherwise, more old school and unapproachable for most.
OMEGA SEAMASTER AQUA TERRA
I'm partial to vintage watches, there's no doubt. I find that the vintage market, by and large, represents more value per dollar than the modern market. But there are exceptions; in fact, you're looking at one. This is the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra and its powered by one of the most interesting movements created in the last 25 years (within relative affordability, at least.) It's the caliber 2500, the first movement Omega brought to market after acquiring the patent of legendary watchmaker George Daniels' co-axial escapement. Beyond being completely innovative in function, the 2500 is extremely well finished. With fine bezels and cotes de geneve throughout, its just a damn pleasure to stare at.
