So far I've been lucky in that I purchased the earlier Modi 3 a year ago, and recently the 3+ - and all with no issues whatsoever . If you really want to make that Modi 3+ sing (and also tame some of the higher frequency grundge that periodically occurs - depending on signal source) pair it will be the outstanding $99 xDuoo hybride tube amp MT-602. I'm now hearing a wide, superb sound-stage, with a strong sense of musical immediacy - but not at the expense of depth or imaging. In fact, after trying various budget DAC's from iFi, Fiio, SMSL, Topping, FX-Audio, and Sabaj - the combination of the Modi 3 and the xDuoo Mt-602 is a match made in heaven. Give those a try, and me thinks that ye won't be disappointed.

I’ve been using the Modi 3 (not the Modi 3+) for some time now. It sounds great, comparable to the Topping E30 that I’m using on my other system. If you don’t need MQA, I think the Modi 3 is good enough.
