Robbie, Would you do a “for dummies” talk on drip irrigation? It would help me a lot & others new to this topic.
Where is your main water source (faucet) and how far away can you run a line?
And, how do you adjust for different plant’s water needs?
Do you have a lawn sprinkler system that you can tap into to run drip irrigation?

Hi Robbie, I've had backyard chickens for about 15 years and grew up around my grandmother's chickens. Mama looks like a Bantam Cochin or a Bantam mix since she is much smaller. This is probably why she is getting picked on. I suggest Silkies to go with Mama, they are very docile and would be her size. Even Silkie Roosters are very pet-like. They are the easiest chickens to care for, in my opinion. The feathered feet varieties tend not to scratch up your garden as much as others, so mine get to free range fairly often. I have gotten TSC chicks with mixed results (once ending up with a really huge, mean rooster out of a tub that was labeled pullets or ending up with the wrong breeds once they were grown), but I prefer ordering from MyPetChicken as they are better quality chicks. One Easter Egger we got from them lived to 12 and even laid one pretty blue egg in her last year!

I love watching you in the garden. Even when plants don't behave like you want them to, you just say Oh Well and move on. It's help me to be not so hard on myself when my plants also misbehave and look icky. Love the bootstrap farmer seed starting containers also!

Hi Robbie! I feel so sorry for Mama chicken. I hope you figure out the one being mean to her. I don't like spiders either, especially black widows! Your seedlings are looking really good. I hope they all survive for you. The planter looks so much better with the spiral in it. I'm sure you will find some annuals to add.😉 Freya is so precious, and so is Sadie. Hi Brent! I hate spiders too! Fortunately we don’t have black widows here in Alaska. But I do have lots of other types in garden. I generally leave them alone to do their business.

But, I don’t like them on deck railings or house. If you put a little bleach in with water in spray bottle and spray those areas, it does seem to keep spiders away.

BTW, we don’t have snakes here either. Don’t think I could deal with those.
