I was an officer on max n death row in SC. Leg irons would only be removed at the request of drs. We would ALWAYS immediately reapply them. Idk these officers...but it looks very suspicious that he was able to run AND the officers didn't SHOOT HIM.
Time will tell but one or both of the escorts are in on it. Sad ...I really pray he doesn't hurt witnesses or the childs surviving family.

Update… A prisoner serving a life sentence for murder was captured at a North Carolina hotel early Friday, three days after his escape on the way to a medical appointment, and authorities say he had help from at least one person.

Alston was taken into custody at about 2 a.m. at a hotel in Kannapolis, near Charlotte, about 110 miles (177 kilometers) southwest of Hillsborough
