You've never heard the Brothers rip it up like this. Bill just shreds his voice in the outro. This is the 1963 Moonglow M-224 45 RPM single of Koko Joe, made in the same month and year as the orginal version, which appears on the LP 'Right Now!'. The audience noise seems to have been added in, along with a fuller backing track, but the Brothers give us a unique version of the song, and I'd love to have seen them perform this! Koko Joe was written by Sonny Bono under the pseudonym Sonny Christy.

Lyrics:
There's a monkey in the jungle name of Koko Joe
The coolest little monkey that you ever did know
You oughta see him dance, it's the funniest thing
Change your bounce to the monkey swing

Chorus:
Yeah, Koko Joe
Let me tell you 'bout Koko Joe
Hunh, hunh, hunh, Koko Joe
The coolest little monkey in town

Koko, that monkey, he's no square ape
He wears Ivy Leaguers with a crazy drape
Don't wear a tail like the other monkeys do
Trimmed down suede and he dyed it blue

[Chorus]

Yeah, Koko, that monkey, really wins the chicks
Got arms on a prize that really clicks, yeah
Likes to talk about love like the other monkeys do
He said, "Listen here, baby, now, later for you"

[Chorus]
