Desert village is all you need, spawn next to a blacksmith that has an iron pickaxe and mine a sandstone stair

Nah you had to find a ruined portal next to a desert temple and get a stair using a golden pickaxe

In a desert village you can actually find sandstone stairs if a ruined portal spawns next to that biome and you can grab a golden pickaxe if it spawns and mine the sandstone stairs

There's another method:you spawn next to a ruined portal that have a pickaxes, then find a desert village that have a stone cutter and then you get the stairs

This is a faster method, when you spawn, make sure its desert temple with a blacksmith, which has a iron pickaxes then in the desert temple, the will be a tall structure, inside of there is sandstone stairs, then mine it, easy as that

You could do it faster by spawning next to Desert village with a stonecutter in one of the houses right next to a plains biome. Alternatively, a Ruined Nether portal with a Golden pickaxe in it is even better

If you want to speed run this and have a faster time I suggest getting a seed with a desert village
