The characters in this cartoon having live-action human mouths may seems a bit uncanny, but it was a beloved action adventure show in the 50s/60s called Clutch Cargo. This is Oddstrosity, let's reset what's expected.

The Daffy Duck parody was my favorite, since in the cartoon they go out of their way to make sure the mouth movements don’t match the audio, and it’s hilarious.

I'm surprised that you mentioned it looking rather unsettling, but forgot about the one place where it was used to its full unsettling potential; the spirit of the harvest moon and that tree from Courage the Cowardly Dog.

The first time I saw Synchro-Vox was on Late Night with Conan O'Brien when he used to "interview" celebrities such as Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The mouth in question was Robert Smigel, who also did the "TV Funhouse" segments on SNL and voiced Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

I think Annoying Orange & SpongeBob did this trick best, because I think it's less weird to have real mouths on semi-realistic objects than it is to have them on 2D figures

one of my earlier memories involved seeing a bumper or something that used syncrovox and it freaked me out. it was one stick figure giving another a gift and I don't remember what he said but it was syncrovoxed and it was terrifying to r year old me

Clutch Cargo is weird, because in all the title cards for it, he has a regular cartoon mouth, while in the show, they're all human mouths

They could've just... not added lip sync, it would be even cheaper (and look cheaper, but at least it wouldn't be creepy)
