In the video I show examples of solutions to the N-Queens chess program in BASIC, C and Assembly and compare the run times. For the source to assembly code version check out the following link:

Thank you very much for this review of the last of the Casio Pocket Computer lineup. I've bought one a few years ago and I love it. It's almost impossible to find the A version or, even more difficult, a 890P. Nevertheless, it's a very fast and very complete calculator. RAM upgrade is quite easy and cheap if you have soldering skills (it's a RAM chip replacement). I've upgraded mine with 256kB of RAM which is more than comfortable with only 10 program slots per language.I also have a couple of VX-4, which are good Pocket Computers but definitely need a RAM upgrade to be usable. The RAM upgrade of the VX-4 up to 64kB is very similar to the Z-1GR : RAM chips replacement, with a solder blob to short a track in addition.

This has that great mid to late 90s Japanese tech aesthetic. I ended up buying the Sharp PC-G850V because they can be found for lot less than these.

Thank you. Didn't know about this calculator yet. Would be a great addition to my Casio "pocket 8s" and FX730P.
