Buchla 223e tips - a keyboard and performance controller

Here I demonstrate how I use the Buchla 223e as both a keyboard and controller.

The following functions are used:
The long pads can be used as faders. This is exceptionally easy to patch, just assign location to the velocity input on the 292e.
The toggles are used as mutes for the bass, percussion, and high frequencies. For percussion, the toggle controls the 227e. For the melodies, the toggle controls the CV select on the studio H 254e. This will then pass or block pulses coming through.
The hex pad on the right controls the waveshape coming from the Northern Light Modular 2AT, increasing the high order harmonics, and also envelope length. This is a very powerful way of controlling the overall presence of an oscillator in the mix without actually fading out the volume.
The hex pad on the left controls envelope length for two different percussive elements.
Finally, the middle notes on the keyboard just play notes! However, I have used the location to control the envelope decay.

This patch uses the septimal minor scale: 1/1 15/14, 9/8, 7/6, 4/3, 7/5, 3/2, 14/9, 7/4.
