Design Talk - Printing Upside Down For Quality!

Note: As I reviewed the video there where a couple additional points which we felt were worth making.

(1) This (printing upside down) works best if the bed is stationary like with a delta or core x/y. Other it would be possible for the object sway during movement as it would be top heavy.

(2) In reviewing the long time lapse video, the model did move a small amount with the print head near the end. So it was clear a certain amount of "drag" remained and it increased with height. The good thing is the movement was in step with the hot-end so this should be considered when printing models of this nature.

Very cool Joe. Now you're ready for printing even stranger orientations. Upsidedown is just a beginning.

Have a nice week!

Great tips👍, and a great work through.
I often prints upside down, when the model is better suited for this. Most of my own design have 45 Deg. Walls.
Thanks for sharing 👍😀

Side Note: I'm not printing anything... I did the firmware update to Marlin V2 on my TEVO Tornado and now I have NOTHING! Just a blank blue screen and I've turned it off and on several times. Arduino didn't show any errors before or after the update. Any ideas on how to fix this?

At 0.2 and such small overhangs you really don’t have to have any supports at all.

Dependent on support is coming to an end with superior new 3d printing technologies. Its just like the Elon Musk lithium factory will not exist for too long. Its destined for extinction. Lithium has no future
