Whoah, that Gabbani.. very open and clear, yielding tremendous sound with very little bow. And extra points for not antiquing. The Piccinati was super rich. Would love to hear those two in a hall. Thanks for this video!

I’d have to say I liked the amber colored one the most. Looks like a lotta fun, Laura.

Beautiful instruments but I think the Mina takes the cake among them. The balance and richness is amazing.

Bought my 3k violin at metzlers a while back. Honestly after a certain hard to define price point the instruments are quality, project, and have a focused enough and usable tone. People spend 15k on a violin just to "fit in." Also there is this insane notion that instruments need to be over 10k to be "good enough." Violins are such incredible hype! Not all instruments in the 5k range are comparable to 10k ones, but you certainly can listen for the ones that are comparable and even better.

People who think they need an expensive violin (and cant afford it) live in a sad misguided world.

Case in point there is a violinist doing solo work for netflix and Disney+ who owns a $25, 000 violin, but actually records on a $700 schroeder mass produced violin. Recording engineers have confirmed that it honestly sounds better than his other instruments.
