UPDATE: I did a full day wear test with hourglass primer on one side and no primer on the other. Both sides look much better than in this review when I used magic cream but there was a tiny bit of caking around the nose on the primer side so the side with no primer wore the best, in fact it looked excellent all day. I found the same with the new Tom Ford Architecture foundation. So on my skin the best way to make matte foundations which are infused with skincare wear well is to apply without any primer. I also used a sponge today and that worked better than a brush.

When I saw they reformulated this foundation I was nervous! It was always a tried and true for me. (I bought a pump on Amazon years and years ago and have used it with each bottle over the years!) Yours is the first side by side I’ve seen of old and new formulas.

When you noted the new was incredibly different from the old version, my stomach fell. I loved the original (and it never broke me out), so I have no idea if I’ll love this one as much! 😭😭

I’ll keep my fingers crossed it still works for me when I run out of my original bottle. At least I’ll be prepared that it’s very different.
At the first check out I liked the new one better on you, but at the last check up I liked the look of the original better. I may not repurchase the new formula after I’m finished with my current bottle.

Thanks for your honest review. I was wondering if I could get away with this foundation, having a normal to dry skin. But as you mentioned that there is some caking, I don't think it would be suitable for my skin.
The reason why you get oiliness with this foundation is because the foundation is drying and your skin is compensating by producing extra oil.

The old original formula looks so much better and covers better. The new one seems like a cheap version that you need to use too much of.

Hi, sometimes a medium face peel helps with skin texture and cakeiness. I have one once a year . Sometimes foundations can only do so much. Having a good chemical peel works wonders sometimes and you will find make up sits so much better. I love the Perfect Derma peel, once or twice a year I have this done and it has been a game changer for me. As I am getting older (45 years), I find my skin texture has changed so much, eg pore size, dryness, dullness. Thankyou for your detailed review. It really helps ❤

It seems that any foundation or concealer that is serum based or has skincare in it seems to slide off

I never tried the old formula but this one is not great on my oily skin not oil controlling at all. I think you should try NW as I’m NC15 as I have a neutral leaning yellow undertone and that’s a great match for me.

It looks like the undertone is too warm. NC is the warm series. I suspect NW12 or NW15 might be better? The Findation website is normally pretty spot on. you enter a foundation that is already a perfect match (or can enter as many as you want) and it will give you your correct shade. I've used it for years, and it is generally accurate. NW20 is my Mac match, and I am close to you in skin tone

Hi Han! Mac made a mess with the colours. NC is actually warm toned, so, not cold. NW will be cool, read Not Warm

The new one is not good and it shows on your face. The old formula is so good they use it on tv sets and model sets. You need to learn how to put on less product under your foundations, that's why your foundation looks so bad on you. Use a lighter moisturizer and you'll be amazed how much better you look. By the way if you use a brush properly you will never have brush marks on your face. Brush in light buffing small circles and you will fill in pores while you're at it. No need for silly sponges that take forever to use. You just need to learn more about application and what you wear underneath foundation.
