We BACK from this week's adventure....

Tired of the load shedding saga and the city life led me to crave an inland retreat #again 😋

Quick chat to a mate and we were all set. Our spur of the moment trips have somewhat become the norm... It's not everyday one can just pack and leave, luckily I'm single 😉
Oh well back to the trip...

We departed around 5am Tuesday morning.
Arrived at the venue and started to unpack only for my mate to give me those dagger looks 🤗 (those that know me, know all to well I never pack light, never🤣)

We got our feed ready, set up and rigged our kits .....
Whilst I got my lines in chef Suraj went on to prepare a hearty breaki, a rare deed but a much needed break from me doing the cooking.

We fished untill the mist and mosquito's got the better of us.

We snuck an early morning run before we could depart.

You would notice that we didn't use a keep net due to the hours fished, size and numbers of fish caught. We did not want the fish to get stressed or injured.
After a quick picture we released each fish.

As per previous trips
Tips when fishing this dam (this trip)
Shallow edges along the dam and Reed's, so one would need to go into the water to net (prevent hook pulls and hurting the fish)
Fish patrol in groups so there's many double and triple ups, be prepared.
Single hooks works better or rig with sliding hook snoot.
Plain floatties with fruity flavors

Tackle Used
Sensation muti box stand helped me tremendously, makes fishing on the back easy and more organized. #aMustHave for me

Rods
The Sensation Tempo v1 rods 12ft, extreamly well priced rods, very good quality components and build, the Rods action for casting high back bone and its soft tip cushions the blows when playing the fish which decreases hook pulls.

Reel of choice
The Okuma Ceymar 55 Baitrunner, again a reel that costs a fraction of the price when compared to others . Don't let the price fool you this reel has silky smooth drag and has proven itself over the years.

Line used
Hyper Cast 5lb line and 8lb, I've tried many lines over the years. This line is a must have for all light to medium facets across fresh and salt.
It's strength VS diameter and fluro coating makes this line one of the best lines in my books. They come in 1000mts, various lb ratings and colours.

Hooks used
Linx Cutting point hooks size 1 and 3. For those that know hooks know why we use cutting point hooks especially when fishing for shy feeders or fish with thick/hard mouth/Jaws.
