Padlock is also open source, but paid version for cloud sync (but can also be customized to use a custom server but I haven't figured out how to do that)

It is well worth mentioning that Bitwarden is able to be hosted on your own server. This is a unique feature and the soul reason why I use it.
You can set up a Bitwarden server, then set up the apps on all your devices and have them sync securely with your own server.

Went from Keepass to Bitwarden and then to Enpass. Just gone back to Bitwarden after Enpass V6 desktop wouldn't work on older versions of Linux. Bitwarden has a Linux version that works.

BitWarden can be self-hosted for free. It also will deal with OTP and QR codes.

Hi, Thanks for the helpful video with al this info. Master Password looks for me like the most interesting one, however i make a research and not much info around, seems still small and new ( 2020 ). thats bring me to ask you if you still recommended? have you use it or still using it?
thx again.

PSA: Don't buy Dashlane. It's a total ripoff, they have HORRIBLE customer service. Took over one week to get a reply, and it's WAY too expensive.

I switched to Bitwarden which is literally FREE and is a thousand times better than TrashLane.

How many characters should you use for a password?

1Password ist great. First I usedLastPass but it lacks features and the security breaches were unacceptable. The mobile app for 1Password works great (at least on iOS) and the desktop app is great too.

You didn't mention Password Safe, it's a free open source project and originally created by world-renowned cryptography expert Bruce Schneier

You mentioned Enpass has a password audit feature, but failed to mention that LastPass has one as well. They call it Security Check.

In addition to being open-source, BitWarden has a self-hostable cloud feature. I haven't tried it yet, but to me that sounds like an open-source version of LastPass that can be run on a server you control. Very interesting.

I know I'm gonna need a password manager in the future. Deciding between Dashlane and Lastpass, though I'm leaning towards Dashlane 'cause of Lastpass' past security issues. On the free version of Dashlane, syncing is disabled after the first month and there's a 50 password limit but I don't think I'll need 50 passwords. Also, I'll probably be using it much more on desktop than on my phone. So, should I get Dashlane?

I'm thinking either Enpass or KeepassXC(Maybe Dashlane). Which one would you suggest?

Hey, I'm kind of a beginner at the whole security stuff, so can I ask: Does the app not requiring an account make it better or worse?

Bitwarden is definitely the best! It is open source, it is secure, it is easy to use and has a clean UI, it has most of the features just for the free version, it has exellent customer service, it has extensions for all major web browsers, it support all major platforms. I mean, what else can you expect?

I am thinking of using bitwarden. The only device I have which I want to use a password manager is my android smartphone running 9.0. Can someone tell me who uses bitwarden, how easy is it change an old password to a generated one on bitwarden? I'm currently using lastpass, and unable to do this with lastpass.
